THE CLINIC IS CANCELLED DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS. IT WILL RESCHEDULED IN THE FALL
Buck will be returning on March 20-22, 2020. The clinic will be held at the Salt Creek Ranch and Event Center, 7206 FM 51, Boyd, TX 76023. He will be conducting a Foundation and a Horsemanship 1 Class. Each class is $750 (total) for 3 days with a nonrefundable deposit of $200. Foundation is 9-12 and H1 is 1:30-4:30. There is a 1-1/2 hour break for lunch. Below is a description of the classes:
This class is for the green rider or a green horse who may feel the need for additional groundwork prior to riding. During each of the three-day sessions half of the class is dedicated to working the horse from the ground in preparation for riding, with the second half of the class horseback. This class is excellent even if you and your horse are experienced and just want to build a firmer foundation.
For the green horse and rider already comfortable in the snaffle bit along with aged horses needing continued work. This is the first stage of progressing into the bridle with all basic movements introduced. All levels of riders - no matter what discipline - will benefit. The class features strictly dry work - no cattle. All maneuvers stress the vaquero style of riding and are appropriate for horses from first level snaffle to experienced bridle horses. Hackamore horses welcome.
Which DVD to Start With
Buck always recommends starting with the Groundwork DVD. This will allow you the fundamentals of horsemanship and enough tools to practice with. It is very difficult and frustrating to try to solve a problem by starting in the middle. Furthermore, all of your learning by the training DVDs should be enriched with a clinic. Seeing it in person, up close and watching Buck ride is invaluable to refining your own work.
For the Riders
A $200 deposit is required to hold a spot for you. You can email us and let us know what class/classes you would like to attend and we will mark you down. Please make checks out to South Paw Ranch, PO Box 287, Farmersville, TX 75442. Do not send a deposit until you are told there is an open spot. We can take credit cards for this clinic but have to charge an additional 3.75% to cover the charges. If you would like to pay using PayPal our address is email@example.com. Make sure to choose the Friends and Family option to transfer funds from your bank. This way no fees are charged. Please be sure to include the rider's name, phone number, email, and which class you are signing up for. Your deposit should be received within 7-10 days or we will have to go to the next person on the list. Balance of class fee must be paid in full by February 1, 2020.
